Recipe for Baymax Bento Box

Ingredients

For 1 serving

  • 1/4 c rice
  • 1/3 c water
  • 1/2 tin Japanese tuna
  • 1 tbsp Kewpie mayo
  • 1 sheet nori
  • 1/4 pack seaweed salad
  • 1 tbsp furikake

Step by step

step 1

Make rice using a rice cooker:

  • Rinse rice with water 3-4 times
  • Soak rice for 20-30 minutes before cooking. Make rice in a rice cooker with rice-to-water ratio of 1 rice to 1.2 water
step 2

Make the tuna Salad:

  • Open tinned Japanese tuna and drain sauce.
  • Mix in mayo and shred the tuna into smaller pieces. Add furikake to taste.
step 3

Cut nori shapes for Baymax's eyes:

  • Cut nori into two small circles and one long strip
step 4

Make the seaweed side salad:

  • Soak the seaweed salad mix in warm water for 5 minutes to rehydrate the seaweed, then drain in a colander and squeeze out any excess water
  • Mix in seaweed salad dressing and furikake to taste
step 5

Plate the bento:

  • Create an oval-shaped rice ball and place it in one end of the bento box. This will be for Baymax’s head!
  • Fill up rest of bento box with tuna salad, seaweed salad, and other additional vegetable sides to round out the meal. We recommend carrots and broccoli.
  • Lastly, place your nori cutouts on top of the rice to create a rice ball that resembles Baymax’s face.
  • Enjoy!
