Culantro, also known as Sawtooth Cilantro or Recao, is a herb with a strong aroma and flavor similar to cilantro. It has long, serrated leaves that resemble long-leaf lettuce. Culantro is an excellent addition to a wide range of recipes. You can use it for almost any dish that would normally be finished with cilantro, though using less culantro than cilantro is recommended.

Cook them into your next homemade Pho broth for that authentic sharp pungent flavor, or tear culantro (and basil) into smaller pieces (perhaps 1/2 inch in size) and add them as toppings like a true connoisseur.
