Snow Peas (Mangetout, 1 lb)

Snow peas, or mangetout, are edible pea pods with small seeds that are flat and thin. Cooked or raw, the peas and pod are both edible. Snow peas are incredibly tender, with a sweet, lightly vegetal flavor. Aside from removing the fibrous string that runs along the stem, this vegetable requires very little preparation. In Asian cuisine, the snow pea plant is commonly harvested young and eaten as a vegetable.
